IPSD 204 School Board elections are on April 2, 2019! Natasha Grover is running to retain her current seat on the School Board. She was selected among thirty-two applicants to be on the board in October 2018. As a Board Member, she has focused on engagement, meeting with key community members and visiting schools to understand their successes and challenges. Natasha is focused on improving the already impressive academic standards for District 204. In addition, she is driving increased awareness of mental health and inclusion for all in the schools. Finally, she provides oversight for the District finances.

Natasha is an attorney by profession and has built her career advocating for others. She currently works for Social Security Administration. Previously, she worked for the Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS) where she protected children who suffered from abuse and neglect. In addition, she has worked at the Public Defender’s Office and the Department of Justice.

She has volunteered her time at legal non-profit agencies such as AIDS Legal Council, Legal Assistance Foundation and Chicago Bar Foundation performing pro bono adoptions. In addition, she has been an active IPSD 204 parent volunteer. She has been an Art Awareness teacher, Ellis Island volunteer, room parent volunteer and recently started a multicultural club at Welch Elementary School and was Chair of their Multicultural Night.

She is vested in the education in the district. Her daughter graduated from Neuqua in 2018, she has a junior at Neuqua and a 4th grader at Welch. Her legal and volunteer background has taught her to listen attentively, gather information, make informed decisions, negotiate, and work with people from different backgrounds. She understands families, children and community.

She has been endorsed by DuPage County Board member, Sadia Covert, former IPSD204 School Board member, Lori Price and the Naperville Area Chamber Political Action Committee. The mayor of Naperville, Steve Chirico had the following words to say about her, “Natasha you have done a great job of acclimating yourself to the D-204 School Board and getting up to speed very quickly on complex issues. I appreciate that you understand the importance of sustainable financial policies and the role that a vibrant business district plays in long-term school funding.
