275 Graduate From Providence

Providence Catholic High School held their graduation at the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet this week.

NEW LENOX, IL -- Nearly 300 students crossed the stage and became the newest alumni of Providence Catholic High School during the Class of 2017 commencement on May 23 at the Rialto Square Theatre in Joliet.

The class was addressed by both Valedictorian Samantha Dorning and Salutatorians Meghan Howat and Michael Massaro. According to a news release from the school they all provided "powerful words of encouragement" and expressed their gratefulness to family, friends and Providence faculty and staff.

In all, the Providence Class of 2017 includes 275 graduates. Here are some of the highlights featuring the Class of 2017 at Providence:

  • 100 percent of the Class of 2017 will continue their education at a college or university.
  • Scholarships valued at nearly $39 million were offered to this class.
  • 56 Illinois State Scholars.
  • 14 percent of student-athletes will continue their athletic careers in college.
