Orland Park Resident Named Providence Valedictorian

ORLAND PARK, IL - Orland Park resident Samantha Dorning will be the valedictorian for the Providence Catholic High School Class of 2017. The school announced that Dorning will receive the honor this week.

Dorning - the daughter of Michael Dorning and Mari Ann Herbert - is a graduate of Cardinal Joseph Bernardin Catholic School in Orland Hills and a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi in Orland Park, according to the school. She will attend Boston University, where she will study political science and business.

Dorning has received a number of academic accolades while at Providence and is also a member of the school's soccer and track teams. She has played ice hockey for 12 years, including seven years with the Chicago Fury AAA Women's Hockey team.
