38-Year Old Caught Spray Painting Graffiti On Bridge: Cops

Police reports include one of a laptop having been stolen from an unlocked car on Nelson Road.

The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Criminal Damage to Property

An officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Third Street at 11:21 a.m. on Sept. 4 in reference to a complaint of criminal damage to property. The complainant advised that an unknown person(s) damaged the vehicle mirror.

Criminal Defacement of Property

Kevin B. Carter, 38, of the 200 block of Locust Lane was charged with criminal defacement of property and possession of drug paraphernalia at 6:13 p.m. on Sept. 6 at E. Maple Street and Prairie Road. An officer was dispatched to the area in reference to a complaint of criminal damage to property. The complainant advised that an unknown person was spray painting graffiti on the concrete supports for the bridge. Upon arrival Officers witnessed the graffiti and met with the subject, Carter, who matched the description given as the person spray
painting the concrete.

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

An officer was dispatched to the 1500 block of Nelson Road in reference to a complaint of a burglary to motor vehicle. The complainant advised that an unknown person went into the unlocked vehicle without permission, taking the backpack with laptop computer in it.

Retail Theft

An officer was dispatched to the Walmart at 1:40 p.m. on Sept. 9 in reference to a complaint of retail theft. The complainant advised that a female subject removed multiple clothing items from the store without paying for them.

An officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference a complaint of retail theft at 3:25 p.m. on Sept 9. The complainant advised that Bowen removed children’s clothing, shoes and a swimsuit from the store without paying for the items, totaling $66.82.
