70-Year Old Man Seriously Hurt In 3-Car Crash In New Lenox
A three-car crash at Laraway and Spencer roads Tuesday night in New Lenox Township seriously injured one of the drivers.

NEW LENOX, IL - A senior citizen remains in serious condition and hospitalized at Silver Cross Hospital after he was involved in a three-car crash at the intersection of Laraway and Spencer roads in New Lenox Township Tuesday night. The 70-year-old man was the driver of a vehicle that collided with a semi-truck and then another vehicle around 9 p.m., according to a news release from the Will County Sheriff's Office. The drivers of the two other vehicles involved in the crash both suffered minor injuries and have been released.
Initial reports indicate the man was headed southbound on Spencer Road in a Hyundai Sonata when he failed to stop at the stop sign at Laraway Road and struck a Volvo Semi-tractor that was being driven in an eastbound direction by a 40-year-old man from Richton Park. Medical staff at Silver Cross indicated to Sheriff's police that the driver of the Sonata may have experienced a medical condition prior to the crash.
The semi-truck driver lost control and his vehicle ended up in a ditch, police said. He was hospitalized, treated and released.
