7 Do not be deceived; God is not mocked, for you reap whatever you sow. 8If you sow to your own flesh, you will reap corruption from the flesh; but if you sow to the Spirit, you will reap eternal life from the Spirit. 9So let us not grow weary in doing what is right, for we will reap at harvest time, if we do not give up. 10So then, whenever we have an opportunity, let us work for the good of all, and especially for those of the family of faith. ~ Galatians 6:7-10
Harvest time is here! The bounty has been very plentiful, with excesses being deposited in our church parking lot by a generous farmer for distribution by church members to area food pantries. Many who have little are being blessed by the generosity of a farmer blessed by God with an abundant harvest. Without giving of the abundance to those in need, the excess produce would just rot in the fields.
Everyone can be a blessing to others if they allow themselves to be "harvested" by God of His Spiritual fruits within each one of them. The many talents each person has can be used to further the kingdom of God and bless those less fortunate if they allow God to use them as He wishes. By not allowing their "fruits" to be harvested by God, they are like the vines that are ignored in the field and the produce rots on the vine in the field, giving off a foul odor to all who go near that field.

You can only benefit this world by allowing God to work within you, lest you sit idly by and "rot" in your field. Are you ready to be harvested by God? Allow God to use you to bless His kingdom here on earth now. He will reward you in heaven later.

Dear Lord,
Harvest me and use my talents You have blessed me with to help others in Your name. Do not allow me to sit idly by and rot - letting these precious talents go to waste. Amen.
