• Village Of New Lenox To Host Remembrance Ceremony On 25th Anniversary Of 9/11 (patch.com) — New Lenox will mark the 25th anniversary of 9/11 with a noon remembrance ceremony at the Firefighters Memorial in the Village Commons, open to all ages. The event will honor victims and first responders while also dedicating a street to decorated Air Force veteran Sgt. (RET) Israel Del Toro, with participation from local fire, police, VFW, and Junior ROTC groups.
• Girl's Encounter With Driver In Parking Lot Alarms Parents: New Lenox Police (patch.com) — Parents in New Lenox are on alert after a young girl reported a troubling encounter with a man in a gray Ford pickup while riding her bike in a parking lot near Vine Street and Route 30. New Lenox police took a report, identified the man, and spoke with him by phone, learning he and a woman with him were traveling for work out of state, but have released no further details.
• Providence Catholic High School Shares Important Dates for Fall (shawlocal.com) — Families in New Lenox considering Providence Catholic High School have several key dates this fall, including Shadow Days from September through December and a major Open House on November 15. Junior High Nights for volleyball and football, a Mini Open House on December 1, and the December 5 placement exam give local students multiple chances to explore academics, activities, and campus life.
