L-W Central Administrator Moving to Oak Lawn High School

The Oak Lawn Community High School Board of Education this week appointed Jeana Naujokas as the school's assistant principal for instruction and assessment.  The appointment becomes effective on July 1.

Naujokas is currently the assistant principal of curriculum and instruction at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox. 

She began her teaching career at Lincoln-Way Central as a social science teacher. She served as the school’s social science department chairperson prior to advancing to the assistant principal position in 2008.

According to OLCHS Supt. Michael Riordan, Naujokas was selected from more than 90 applicants and will be charged with leading the district through the staff development process of aligning the school’s curriculum to the Common Core Learning Standards. The standards were recently adopted by the Illinois State Board of Education. 

Additionally, she will work with the administration and staff to implement instructional and assessment initiatives to help the school improve test scores.

Naujokas earned a bachelor's degree in Secondary Education History from DePaul University and a master's degree in School Administration from Northern Illinois University. She is  a doctoral student in Educational Administration at Loyola University. 

"I am very excited about becoming a member of the school’s administrative team," she said. "Oak Lawn has a reputation of strong academic, athletic, and extracurricular programs and I am proud to become a part of the school.  I realize the curriculum realignment expectations are high but I feel confident that I can help lead the district. I am looking forward to working with the wonderful faculty and administration and getting to know the students and parents.”
