Armed Robberies At T-Mobile, Silver Cross Just Hours Apart

New Lenox police are investigating armed robbery reports at a T-Mobile store and the parking lot of Silver Cross Hospital.

NEW LENOX, IL -- Armed robberies were reported at a T-Mobile store and the parking lot of Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox within hours of each other Monday night.

New Lenox police were first called to the T-Mobile at 408 Nelson Road at 8:28 p.m. for a report of an armed robbery. Someone there told police that a black men entered the store with a handgun and demanded cellphones and money. He made off with about $700 and 52 cell phones of carious makes and models.

Less than three hours later, at 11:01 p.m., police were called to the parking lot at Silver Cross for another armed robbery. Someone there told police that a black man entered their vehicle, while the victim was in it, and demanded a cellphone, wallet and keys.

The suspect left the scene in a dark colored Mini-Cooper.

New Lenox police said both crimes remain under investigation.
