1We declare to you what was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the word of life— 2this life was revealed, and we have seen it and testify to it, and declare to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was revealed to us— 3we declare to you what we have seen and heard so that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son Jesus Christ. ~ 1 John 1:1-3
Our church holds a couple of festivals each year - one in June and one in September. They are meant not only to help raise funds toward our operating expenses, but also to be a time of food, fun and fellowship with each other and with those just visiting for the day. It is a great time to witness the love of Christ to those that are not a part of our faith family, yet are part of our community around us.
People have gathered together for centuries to celebrate different festivals for different reasons. Many were religious in nature and meant as a time of remembrance of historical events of the people celebrating them. Christians celebrate festivals to remember Christ's birth, death and resurrection. They also gather to fellowship together - supporting each other in Christian love during these celebrations.

Every day can be a time of fellowshipping with one another in the name of Christ Jesus. We do not have to wait for special events to do so. Being in fellowship with one another can be one-on-one as well as in large groups at church and in Bible studies - sharing our faith with one another to help strengthen each other's walk of faith through this earthly life we travel.
Where can we find an opportunity to fellowship with someone today? You may make all the difference in the world to them. Then again, maybe they will be the very blessing from God you need today as well!

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
We thank You for times to gather together to fellowship with one another - sharing our faith in You to help strengthen each other's walk through this earthly life. May we make a difference in each life we touch and may the lives that touch us also be a blessing to us from You. Amen.
