Cache Creek Animal Rescue Opens in New Home in New Lenox
The rescue has a new place to call home.

Cache Creek Animal Rescue can continue its work to find homes for animals, after landing in a new one of its own.
The nonprofit rescue group opened Friday, April 10 at 5 p.m. in its home at 1003 Star Lane in New Lenox.
“Today is the big day we open in New Lenox,” the group shared on its Facebook page. ”Excitement is the best way to explain how we all feel (even though there are no words to really describe how we feel).

The shelter’s founder Donna Hawks earlier this year fought an eviction from its Joliet location, and was compelled to find a different place for its animals to call a temporary home.
Months later, the group secured their place in New Lenox.

The doors will open at 5 p.m. Friday, and close again at 6 p.m.
“...but have no fear we reopen on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.,” the shelter wrote on its page. “So come check out the cute babies, or just stop by to check out the amazing facility. Keep in mind we are still under ’construction’ so it is not completed with our vision yet.”
Hours for the New Lenox location will be Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
