Car Burglaries, DUIs: New Lenox Police Reports

The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

June 17

• Tamara Ingram, 33, of Lockport, was arrested at 2:28 a.m. at Lincoln Highway and Williams Street and charged with DUI-alcohol and illegal transportation of alcohol.
• Markeitta Johnson, 28, of Matteson, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. in the 1500 block of West Lincoln Highway and charged with driving while license suspended and operating uninsured vehicle.

June 18

• A cell phone and headphones were stolen from an unlocked locker at LA Fitness, 2431 E. Lincoln Highway.
• Walter Popovich, 60, of Joliet, was arrested at 11:09 p.m. at Silver Cross Hospital, 1900 Silver Cross Boulevard, and was charged with criminal damage to property and violation of order of protection.

June 19

• An unlocked car with the key inside was stolen from the 600 block of Crescenzo Court.
• A laptop, iPad, garage door opener and brief case were stolen from an unlocked car in the 200 block of Tonell Avenue.
• A wallet was stolen from an unlocked car in the 200 block of Manor Drive.
• A garage door opener was stolen from an unlocked car in the 200 block of Tonell Avenue.

June 20

• Alexander Seldon, 21, of Hazel Crest, was arrested at 8:16 p.m. at Nelson and Shagbark roads and charged with driving while license suspended.

June 21

• A wallet was stolen from a car in the 700 block of Bishops Gate. The owner thought the car had been locked but there were no signs of forced entry.
• An unlocked car with the keys inside was stolen from the 700 block of Bishops Gate.
• A backpack containing a laptop and credit cards was stolen from an unlocked car in the 800 block of Brigantine Drive.
• A garage door opener was stolen from an unlocked car in the 2800 block of Molly Court.

June 22

• A purse was stolen from an unlocked car in the 2500 block of Molly Court. The purse was found in the street a few houses away.
• A business check was stolen from an unlocked car in the 2700 block of Sunrise Lane.
• An iPad was stolen from an unlocked car in the 1400 block of Monica Lane.

June 23

• Eric Beranek, 45, of Lockport, was arrested at 6:38 p.m. at Lincoln Highway and Nelson Road and charged with DUI-alcohol, driving while license revoked and no proof of insurance.
