Car Egged: New Lenox Crime Blotter

The culprit of last week's egging is still on the loose.

NEW LENOX, IL - Here is your look at criminal activity during the past week, April 23-30 in the growing village of New Lenox. The following information has been edited and it's courtesy of the New Lenox Police Department:

APRIL 23

The officer was dispatched to Target for a retail theft. The officer learned that Courtney Bilyeu, 38, of the 19500 block of South 116th Avenue in Mokena, stole approximately $322 worth of clothing and cosmetics from the store. Bilyeu posted bond and was released.

APRIL 24

The officer was dispatched to a car burglary complaint. Police learned that someone entered an unlocked vehicle and stole money while the victim worked out at LA Fitness.

APRIL 25

New Lenox Police investigated an identity theft report from the 1200 block of Shagbark Road. The complainant told police someone obtained their personal information, opened a fraudulent Verizon account and charged $5,000 to the fraudulent account.

APRIL 26

Police investigated a theft at Aldi's, 300 block of East Lincoln Highway. The victim told police they suspect someone stole their wallet while they were bagging their groceries at Aldi.

Unrelated, police arrested Stephanie Bottando, 27, 100 block of Oakview Drive, New Lenox on charges of DUI and speeding. The officer was running radar and observed a vehicle speeding. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and learned that Bottando was driving under the influence of alcohol. Bottando posted bond and was released.

APRIL 27

Police were sent to the McDonald's restaurant in the 600 block of West Lincoln Highway for someone acting suspicious. After speaking with the complainant at McDonald’s, the officer was alerted to a suspicious man in a semi-truck at the Jewel. The officer located the truck at Jewel and made contact with the driver, Raul Ramirez, 56, of Victorville, CA. The officer learned Ramirez was under the influence of alcohol. Ramirez was charged with DUI. Ramirez failed to post bond and was transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.

APRIL 28

The officer was dispatched to the 600 block of Misty Creek in reference to a vandalism. The complainant told police that their vehicle was egged while it was parked on the street overnight.
