Here's what crimes the police have investigated in New Lenox of late.

NEW LENOX, IL - Here's a look at the recent crimes that the New Lenox Police Department has investigated during the past week.
October 30
An officer conducted a random registration check on a vehicle in the 1800 block of West Lincoln Highway. The officer learned that the owner of the car had a suspended driver’s license. The officer saw that the driver of the vehicle matched the descriptors provided. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and met with the driver, David Jozwiak, 50, of Tinley Park.

Jozwiak was not the registered owner of the vehicle. However, the officer learned that Jozwiak had a revoked driver’s license. Jozwiak was transported to the NLPD. Jozwiak posted bond and was released.

Officers observed a suspicious vehicle at the AMC Theater. The officers learned that the occupants of the vehicle were smoking marijuana illegally. Further investigation found Leah Thomas, 18, of the 1200 block of Burger Avenue, Joliet, to be illegally in possession of pills which require a prescription. Thomas was transported to the NLPD. Thomas was transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility.
November 1
Police were dispatched to Murphy Oil in reference to an intoxicated motorist. The officer arrived and made contact with the driver of the vehicle, Elizabeth Haas, 59, of the 2400 block of Timber Springs, Joliet. The officer learned that Haas was under the influence of alcohol. Haas was transported to the NLPD. Haas posted bond and was released.
November 3
The officer was dispatched to Walmart in reference to a Retail Theft complaint. The complainant advised that a man stole merchandise valued at approximately $100 from the store.
November 5
The officer was dispatched to Kingston Drive in reference to an Identity Theft Complaint. The complainant advised that someone obtained their personal information to open an account and fraudulently made a purchase out of state.
