Door Damaged, Windows Broken At Vacant Kmart Building

NEW LENOX, IL -- New Lenox police responded twice in as many days to the former Kmart building on Lincoln Highway for reports of criminal damage to property.

On Oct. 5 at 4:50 p.m. they were called to the vacant building at 1500 W. Lincoln Highway and were told that someone damaged a door. The next day, on Oct. 6 at 6:20 p.m., police responded to the same location in reference to a report that someone broke windows at the same building.

Police said in a report that both incidents are under review by their investigations team "for assignment or closure."
