Drug Possession, DUIs, Retail Thefts: New Lenox Police Reports
New Lenox police reports through May 25.
The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.
May 15
- A man entered an unlocked vehicle in the 500 block of Stafford Drive and stole a wallet before fleeing to a waiting vehicle.

- Joseph Carduff, 26, of the 1000 block of Illinois Highway, was charged at 3:31 a.m. with fleeing and eluding, illegal transportation of alcohol and operating an uninsured motor vehicle. Cardiff was driving an ATV on Lincoln Highway, and fled from police before officers located him at his home, according to reports.
- Someone entered an unlocked vehicle on May 15 in the 700 block of Sojourn Road and stole Apple AirPods and $10.
- Luke Valentine, 19, of the 400 block of Krystal Court, was charged at 8:50 p.m. with possession of controlled substance at Tyler Bentley Fields, 511 E. Illinois Highway. Valentine was smoking cannabis in his car, was unlawfully in possession of cannabis and was in possession of Adderall which he did not have a prescription for, reports state.
- Brandie Harper, 36, of Chicago Heights, was charged at 11:43 p.m. with driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle at Ferro Drive and Gougar Road.
- John Kosek, 48, of Chicago Ridge, was charged at 4:59 a.m. with driving while license suspended and operating an uninsured vehicle at Illinois Highway and Gougar Road.
May 19
- The windows were broken out of a car parked at Silver Cross Hospital, 1900 Silver Cross Boulevard.
- Gabriel Smith, 30, of Joliet, was charged at 4:46 p.m. with retail theft at CVS, 115 E. Lincoln Highway. Smith stole two bottles of alcohol from the store, reports state.
- Carmen Chagolla, 19, of Joliet; and Daniel Mircial, 21, of Joliet, were charged at 6:24 p.m. with retail theft at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. They stole over $300 worth of clothing and other items from the store, reports state.
- Deirdre Whitehead, 47, of the 0-100 block of Honey Lane, was charged at 4:46 p.m. with retail theft at Jewel Osco, 475 Nelson Road. Whitehead stole a bottle of wine and other items from the store, reports state.
May 21

- Three men stole over $1,000 worth of electronics from Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway.
May 22
- David Holley, 62, of the 500 block of Vanderbilt Drive, was charged at 5:26 p.m. with domestic battery in the 2400 block of E. Lincoln Highway. Reports state Holley struck a woman in the face, and she sustained minor injuries.
- Amy Masielski, 42, of the 100 block of Wallace Street, was charged at 8:37 p.m. with retail theft at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. Reports state Masielski stole over $80 worth of merchandise from the store.
- Ingrid Davis, 39, of Joliet, was charged with retail theft at 8:37 p.m. at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. Reports state Davis stole over $200 worth of merchandise and fled in a vehicle, before police located the car on Lincoln Highway.
May 23
- Patrick Hardin, 21, of the 2900 block of Kingsway Avenue, was charged with DUI-alcohol at 12:11 a.m. in the 1100 block of Sierra Ridge.
- An unlocked car with the keys inside the vehicle was stolen from a driveway in the 800 block of Karen Lane.
- The mirrors and windshield of a car were damaged in the 100 block of Kimber Lane.
May 24
- Lawrence Bates, 57, of Joliet, was charged with burglary at 12:32 a.m. in the 2000 block of Cardinal Drive. Reports state Bates forced entry by breaking a window of a home under construction and he broke two pipes in an effort to steal the copper.
- Christopher Maldonado, 34, of Willow Springs, was charged with DUI-alcohol at 9:18 p.m. at Laraway and Cedar roads.
May 25
- Connor Daley, 22, of the 1100 block of Elm Drive, was charged with criminal trespassing and resisting arrest at 6:55 a.m. in the 800 block of North Cedar Road. Reports state Daley was on the roof of Oster Oakview School and ran from police before being taken into custody.
- A woman and a man stole over $900 worth of items from Target, 2370 E. Lincoln Highway.
- Someone broke the windshield of a car parked in the 1600 block of Briarcrest.
