DUIs, Car Burglaries: New Lenox Police Reports

New Lenox police reports through July 20.

The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

July 13

  • Someone drove an ATV onto Sanctuary Golf Course, 425 N. Marley Road, and caused damage.
  • Michael Clark, 49, of the 900 block of South Bentley Road, was charged with retail theft at 6:21 p.m. at Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway. According to the police report, Clark stole $47 worth of items from the store.

July 14

  • Noel Richards, 62, of Joliet, was charged with DUI-alcohol at 12:57 a.m. at Maple and Cedar roads. According to police reports, the officer conducted a traffic stop after seeing the car being driven erratically. The officer met with the driver, Richards, and learned he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

July 15

  • Kevin Tucker, 50, of Hammond, Indiana, was charged with DUI-alcohol at 12:48 a.m. in the 500 block of East Laraway Road. According to police reports, the officer was on patrol and saw a car in the parking lot of the closed Speedway gas station. The officer approached the car, which was running, and saw the driver's door ajar and the foot of the driver hanging out of the door. The officer met with the driver, Tucker, and learned he was driving under the influence of alcohol.

July 16

  • Someone entered an unlocked car in the 1500 block of Delmar Lane and stole cash and credit cards. The credit cards were then used to make unauthorized purchases.
  • Derek Klimczak, 26, of the 700 block of Northern Lights Way, was charged with DUI-alcohol at 8:42 p.m. in the 900 block of South Cedar Road. According to police reports, the officer was called to Speedway gas station about an intoxicated person in a car. The officer arrived and met with the driver, Klimczak, and learned he was driving under the influence of alcohol and had been involved in an accident.
  • Michael Hedenschoug, 43, of the 1700 block of Eagle Circle, was charged with domestic battery at 10:28 p.m. in the 1700 block of Eagle Circle. According to police reports, Hedenschoug battered the victim during an argument, and the victim had minor injuries.

July 17

  • Someone entered an unlocked vehicle at Culver's, 421 E. Lincoln Highway, and stole a stereo speaker.
  • Someone obtained information for the Lincolnway Special Recreation Association checking account and cashed fraudulent checks.

July 19

  • Louis Grigoletti, 22, of the 3200 block of Edge Creek, was charged with DUI-alcohol at 3:09 a.m. at Joliet Highway and Pine Street. According to police reports, the officer was on patrol and saw a parked vehicle with the driver slumped over the wheel. The officer met with the driver, Grigoletti, and learned he was driving under the influence of alcohol and had open alcohol inside the car.
