DUIs, Possession Of Stolen Car: New Lenox Police Reports

New Lenox Police reports through Oct. 21.

The following information is from the New Lenox Police Department. An arrest is not an indication of guilt.

Oct. 14

  • Ibraheem Abdel-Rahman, 28, of Mokena, was arrested at 12:42 a.m. at Cedar Road and Route 6 and charged with driving while license suspended.
  • Alyssa Zurlis, 21, of Orland Park, was arrested at 10:37 a.m. at Lincoln Highway and Marley Road and charged with driving while license suspended.
  • John Norris, 54, of Joliet, was arrested at 3:51 p.m. at Jewel, 475 Nelson Road, and charged with retail theft.
  • Madison Wise, 43, of the 1500 block of Eagle Vista Road, was arrested at 8:39 p.m. in the 1500 block of Eagle Vista and charged with domestic battery.

  • Thomas Pritchard, 22, of Mokena, was arrested at 1:07 a.m. at Lincoln Highway and Nelson Road and charged with DUI and speeding.
  • Lauren Schenck, 33, of the 200 block of East Woodlawn, was arrested at 8:06 a.m. at Joliet Highway and Sojourn Road and charged with driving while license suspended.
  • Two men stole four cases of alcohol from Jewel, 2021 E. Laraway Road. Total loss was over $1,100.

Oct. 16

  • A credit card was stolen out of a wallet in a locker at LA Fitness, 2431 E. Lincoln Highway.
  • Matthew Focia, 32, of the 200 block of East Woodlawn Road, was arrested at 9:25 p.m. in the 200 block of Woodlawn and charged with domestic battery.

  • Someone broke a window on a car at La Petite Academy, 2120 Calistoga Drive, and stole a laptop, wallet and diaper bag.
  • Robert Diver, 50, of the 400 block of North Marley Road, was arrested at 10:44 p.m. at Lincoln Highway and Schoolhouse Road and charged with DUI-alcohol and operating an uninsured vehicle.

Oct. 18

  • LeMelvin Counsell Jr., 22, of Wilmington, was arrested at 9:13 a.m. at Nelson and Laraway roads and charged with possession of stolen motor vehicle and an outstanding warrant. A 17-year-old juvenile in the car was also charged with unlawful use of weapon, possession of a stolen firearm and criminal trespass to motor vehicle after a handgun was found in the car.

Oct. 19

  • Two women and one man stole four cases of alcohol from Jewel, 475 Nelson Road. The total loss was over $1,500.
  • A backpack containing miscellaneous items was stolen from a car in the 2900 block of Southwind Drive. There was no sign of forced entry to the car.
