ER Patient Stole Prescription Meds From Silver Cross: Cops

New Lenox police say a 27-year-old Joliet man broke into a container and stole prescription medications.

NEW LENOX, IL -- A patient in the emergency room at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox was charged with criminal damage to property and theft after police said he stole a batch of prescription medications from a locked container.

Raymond M. Arnold, 27, of Joliet was charged at 12:02 a.m. on June 21 at the hospital, according to a police report.

A police officer responded to Silver Cross and was met by someone who indicated that Arnold "forced open a locked container" and stole prescription medications while he was being treated by hospital staff.

Arnold posted bond and was released.
