Illinois National Guard Company E, 634th Brigade Support Battalion will host an open house for families and its community on Saturday, May 21, at the Joliet Armory.
The Joliet-based unit will have a vehicle display set up for the community to see along with a tent with equipment setup. This will be a chance for the public to meet the soldiers and see how they train.
The unit will have a platoon relay competition at noon.

There will be free food and drinks for everyone.
The Joliet-based unit was deployed from August 2008 to August 2009 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom with the 33rd Infantry Brigade Combat Team.
