1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When evildoers assail me to devour my flesh— my adversaries and foes— they shall stumble and fall. 3 Though an army encamp against me, my heart shall not fear; though war rise up against me, yet I will be confident. ~ Psalm 27:1-3
There are many things to fear if we allow fear to creep into our lives. There is the fear of war, death, hunger, poverty, harm, illness…and the list continues. It is so easy to give ourselves over to fear in this world we live in.
God can conquer all of our fears. We need to give over all of our fears to Him and just rest safely in His arms, knowing that God sees everything and protects us from all harm that might come our way. Like a parent protecting their young, God will protect us, for we are His beloved children. We can find comfort and peace in the knowledge that, because we are His, He is in charge and will keep us safe. No matter what might come against us, God will bring us through it. Just put your trust in Him.
Prayer
Father in heaven,
Please take all of our fears away and comfort us, bringing us back to a state of peace in our souls. We know that You and You alone will protect us from all that may wish to harm us in this world. Our hearts are full of love and gratefulness for all that You provide for us, if we will just put our trust in You. Thank You for giving us a refuge in You. Amen.
