The annual rite of passage for high school juniors is just around the corner! On Saturday, April 12, thousands of students will face off with their biggest test yet, the ACT.
Some have high hopes for a score that will grant them admission and scholarships to their favorite schools; others just can't wait to get it over with!
Hopefully, you students have been long at work preparing. Between the four sections (English, Math, Reading, and Science) you have to answer 215 questions in about 3 hours. Have you practiced a whole test yet? What's your best subject? And your worst?
For those of you that are dreading the 60-question math portion, I've got some last minute good news for you. You've got two opportunities to hit the books hard the week before the test to review just about everything the Math ACT can throw at you.
A math workshop is planned for Saturday morning, April 5 and for Wednesday evening, April 9 that will give you 3-4 hours of teaching and review to jog your memory of everything Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry. How does that sound?
All the details are available on the workshop website, http://www.themathact.com, and if you decide you want to do it, you can sign up right online. Just a heads up, space is limited, so don't wait too long! It will be worth the effort!
