Home Catches Fire In New Lenox

Firefighters responded to a fire that caused "considerable damage" to a home on Krystal Lane Tuesday afternoon.

NEW LENOX, IL -- A New Lenox home caught fire on Tuesday.

The New Lenox Fire Protection District received a call regarding a structure fire in the 900 block of Krystal Lane at 4:30 p.m., according to NLFPD Spokeswoman Marisa Schrieber.

Once on the scene, firefighters upgraded the call to a full still. The home had sustained "considerable damage" according to Schrieber.

Firefighters had the blaze under control in about 15 minutes.

The cause of the fire remained under investigation as of Tuesday night.
