Indiana Teen Accused Of Raping New Lenox Relative
The defendant is not from New Lenox, police said.

NEW LENOX, IL - Jason Stout lives in Munster, Indiana, but he now finds himself facing several criminal charges that may put him in prison for years. The 18-year-old was arrested Saturday by New Lenox Police officers in connection with allegations of rape. The Will County State's Attorney's Office has charged Stout with serious felony crimes, all accusing him of committing sexual abuse against an underage family member.
A Will County judge set Stout's bail at $100,000. After spending 24 hours in the jail, the defendant was able to post 10 percent bond. He was released the county jail on Sunday night, jail logs show.
On Wednesday, New Lenox Deputy Chief of Police Louis Alessandrini told New Lenox Patch that the victim in the case is a juvenile girl who is related to Stout. The Indiana teenager had permission to stay overnight at the house of his relatives in New Lenox, he said. On Saturday morning, the juvenile notified New Lenox Police that she went to bed and later awoke to find Stout sexually assaulting her, Alessandrini said.

"We arrived and he was on the scene and he was taken into custody," Alessandrini said of Stout. The victim was taken to the hospital for a rape-kit examination, he added.
Alessandrini explained that Stout is not a New Lenox resident. "I commend the young lady for notifying us so that it could be properly investigated and an arrest was made," he said.
