June Triple Play Concert Rescheduled To August

Due to the coronavirus, the first Triple Play concert with Dennis DeYoung has been pushed to the end of August.

NEW LENOX, IL — The first concert planned for the popular Triple Play concert series in New Lenox has been rescheduled to Aug. 29 due to the coronavirus. The concert with Dennis DeYoung was originally planned for June 13 has now been pushed back to the end of August, Mayor Tim Baldermann said in a video update April 13.

"There will be a slow roll-out back to everyday life," Baldermann said. "We won't be gathering in large numbers."

The majority of events planned for the Commons in June have been canceled or will be canceled.

"We will announce with plenty of notice when tickets will go on sale, if we're able to go through with the Triple Play concert series this year," Baldermann said. "We're hopeful that we will, but it certainly won't be the first [concert] in June.

The Triple Play concert series was started by Baldermann in 2009. Past Triple Play acts have included Daughtry, Kenny Loggins, Barenaked Ladies, Chicago and Kansas.
