L-W Area Business Womens’ Organization Awards Scholarships

The Lincoln-Way Area Business Womens’ Organization was proud to award 17 area young women with $1,000 scholarships this summer.

On Tuesday July 20th a dinner was held at Gattos in New Lenox where 11 of the girls attended and were awarded their scholarship check. Due to the Covid19 pandemic the event was downsized, and social distancing measures were taken.

The Scholarship winners included in the photo above:

Other Scholarship Recipients Include: Elizabeth Myotte, Emma Kein, Allie Reis, Kaitlin Burke, Abigale Dudeck and Claire McGrath.

The organization holds an annual auction in December where all the money raised goes directly to funding the scholarships. This year the physical auction will not be able to take place due to the restrictions on large indoor gatherings. Providing scholarship money to graduating seniors and women returning to school is the main objective of the group.
