Lincoln-Way Auto Students Help Seniors Prepare for Winter
Lincoln-Way Auto students helped 40 senior citizens prepare their cars for winter.
NEW LENOX, IL — Winter weather may have come early this year, but now more than 40 senior citizens are prepared to drive when more wintry weather hits.
The district said for the second year in a row, Lincoln-Way Central has partnered with the village of New Lenox and its Safe Communities America Coalition, the New Lenox NAPA, and Country Financial to provide free vehicle inspections to seniors to help them prepare for winter.
Under the supervision of an auto shop teacher, the district said the automotive students checked car fluids, checked belts and hoses, inspected tires, inspected underside suspension and front end parts, loaded test batteries, checked coolant strength and checked headlights, turn signals, parking lamps and registration plate bulbs.
