Lincoln-Way D210 Presents Reopening Plan: Offers Blended Learning

The district will offer two options to families: blended learning with A/B days or full remote learning.

NEW LENOX, IL — Lincoln-Way District 210 has presented its plan for reopening schools in the fall to the community and will offer a blended learning option or a fully remote option.

"While this continues to be a fluid situation based upon the conditions and guidance at this time, the plan to reopen in the fall is blended learning-A/B days," Superintendent R. Scott Tingley wrote in a letter to the community on Thursday.

Students would be split alphabetically into Group A and Group B. Depending on the week, students will attend in-person school two to three times per week, and will remote learn on the days they aren't in school.

Tingley said in the letter that the district received over 6,000 responses after a survey to parents, students and staff. 88 percent of parents, 86 percent of students and 88 percent of teachers chose full in-person of blended learning as their first two choices.

If parents choose to enroll their child in remote learning, they must do so by July 26. The commitment is for the entire semester.
