Lincoln-Way Lights Victory Lights To Support First Responders
Schools may be closed due to the coronavirus, but Lincoln-Way high schools have lit their 'Victory Lights' for first responders and students
NEW LENOX, IL — Although all three Lincoln-Way high schools are closed until at least April 30, the schools have lit their Victory Lights as a sign of support and hope for first responders, essential workers, students teachers and the community during the coronavirus pandemic.
"The Victory Light signifies school spirit and the success of all the students at the schools. The Victory Light is turned on for all varsity victories for athletics and activities. Typically teams light it up when they arrive back at school or after their home game," Director of Community Relations Jennifer Hannon said.
Now, the Victory Lights at Lincoln-Way East and Lincoln-Way Central shine each night for first responders and essential workers. The Lincoln-Way West 'W' spirit light is having technical difficulties, but will be lit soon, Hannon said.
