New Lenox, IL - Authorities are on high alert this week after a bold and highly unusual theft rocked the community. Two beloved stone lions mysteriously vanished from in front of the MorningStar Mission Treasure Chest Store in New Lenox, leaving residents both baffled and mildly impressed.

Witnesses report seeing a suspicious individual—known only as “Lion Jim”—lurking near the statues shortly before their disappearance. Described as “overly enthusiastic about the Lions” and “possibly taking the club mascot thing too far,” Jim has quickly become the prime suspect.

Local officials have not confirmed how the statues were moved but suspect a combination of determination, questionable planning, and perhaps a borrowed dolly. One anonymous tipster claimed Jim was overheard saying, “Every pride needs a few more members.”

Members of the New Lenox Lions Club have declined to comment, though several were seen shaking their heads while trying not to laugh.

Authorities remind the public that this is, in fact, an April Fool’s Day story—but if you got a chuckle out of it, consider supporting the great work of the MorningStar Mission Treasure Chest Store and the New Lenox Lions Club.
