Mailbox Damaged, Semi-Tractor Burglary, Retail Thefts: New Lenox Blotter

Burglary to Motor Vehicle

An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Degroate at 3:49 p.m. on March 13 in reference to a complaint of a burglary to motor vehicle. The complainant advised that an unknown person entered their unlocked semi-tractor and rummaged through items without permission. No property was reported missing.

Criminal Damage to Property

An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Degroate at 4:12 p.m. on March 13 in reference to a complaint of burglary to motor vehicle. While on scene the officer learned that unknown person(s) damaged a mailbox.

Burglary

An officer was dispatched to the 400 block of Francis Road at 10:40 a.m. on March 16 in reference to a complaint of a burglary. The complainant advised that an unknown person forced entry to a work trailer and removed property without permission.

Theft

An officer was dispatched to 1000 block of W. Laraway Road at 2:35 p.m. on March 17 in reference to a theft. The complainant advised that unknown subject(s) entered the Celtic Elite Wrestling facility and removed wrestling matts and other wrestling equipment without permission.

Retail Theft

Christopher J. Balaban, 36, Joliet was charged with retail theft at 5:07 p.m. on March 17. An officer was dispatched to Jewel in reference to a retail theft. The complainant advised that a subject exited the store with $500 worth of product in a cart without paying for the items. The complainant confronted the offender, Balaban, who then fled on foot. Responding officers located Balaban in the area and he was arrested.

Haley M. Mchale, 20, of the 600 block of Warbler Lane was charged with retail theft at 8:59 p.m. on March 17 at Walmart. The complainant advised that the offender, Mchale, removed $32 of alcohol from the store and exited without paying for the items.
