Metra Returns To Alternate Schedule For SouthWest Line
Metra had canceled service for the three lines after protests in Chicago, but service resumed Monday, the company said in a release.
NEW LENOX, IL — Metra has returned to an alternate weekday schedule for the SouthWest, Heritage Corridor and North Central service lines. Metra had canceled service for the three lines after protests in Chicago, but service resumed Monday, the company said in a release.
The schedules that will be used are the same schedules which were in effect before the protests.
According to a release, Saturday service will remain suspended on the SouthWest service line. The company said it is closely monitoring ridership and will add cars to trains or trains to the schedules as ridership grows.

There are also several health guidelines in place, including: requiring passengers and crews to wear face coverings; asking passengers to practice physical distancing; and aiming to operate trains at half capacity. The company said it is also cleaning and disinfecting high-touch areas and installing additional hand sanitizer dispensers.
