“It’s hard to believe that we’re already to week seven in the Free K-12 lunches that Kevin Molloy and I talked about putting together with the Manhattan Creamery. We talked with the owners Jordan and Larry Sisk about how we wanted to put this together and almost twelve hundred hot dogs later, here we are,” said White Wave Property owner Jen Fuessel.

On March 15th, Molloy approached Jordan and Larry Sisk with the thought of bringing the students in the Lincoln-Way area something special. The schools were going to be shut down and who knows when they would open up so Molloy and Fuessel decided as long as the schools were down, they would team up to buy the lunches that included a hot dog, a small fry and a small drink. Week one was just twenty-two lunches, but since then it’s become a routine for so many families.

“Jen has a startup business and has such a big heart which is why I approached her. When we met at a network event, I was impressed with her desire to make a difference. This was a perfect fit for a less than perfect time. We could provide some families some lunchtime relief, the kids something to look forward to and keep some high school students on the Creamery payroll during a slow time. By the time we are done with this in late May, we might top the twenty-five hundred free lunches mark,” Molloy reflected.
