New Lenox Motorcyclist Dead After Hitting Semi: Coroner

The 74-year-old man was pronounced dead Sunday evening.

A 74-year-old New Lenox man has died after a motorcycle vs. semi crash Sunday evening in Channahon Township.

Melvin H. Weidner was the driver of a motorcycle that struck a semi-tractor trailer at the Arsenal Road ramp to I-55 northbound, according to Will County Coroner Patrick K. O’Neil.

Weidner was pronounced dead at 8:35 p.m.

The Illinois State Police is investigating the incident. An autopsy will be performed today. Funeral arrangements are pending.
