Multiple DUI Arrests: New Lenox Crime Blotter

Here's your look at what's been keeping the New Lenox Police Department busy.

NEW LENOX, IL - Here's a look at some of the criminal activity around the village of New Lenox from the past week.

APRIL 18

An officer was dispatched to the Walmart, 501 E. Lincoln Highway, in reference to a theft complaint. The complainant advised a former employee stole cash from the register.

APRIL 19

A resident from the 100 block of Hawthorne Street advised police that someone gained access to their bank account and cashed a fraudulent check on their account.

An officer was sent to the 1400 block of Nelson Road where the person told police that someone drove a vehicle across their lawn.

An officer was sent to Argyle Lane for a possible burglary. The person making the complaint told police that two people they do not know were seen entering a vacant home. The officer checked the home and found nobody inside.

An officer was sent to 441 E. Lincoln Highway for a theft case. Someone reported that their iPhone was stolen while they shopped inside the Goodwill store. "The complainant later contacted the NLPD and advised that he along with the Joliet PD recovered his phone from a residence in Joliet after activating the Find My Phone feature."

APRIL 20

APRIL 21

At 2:21 a.m. in the 300 block of West Lincoln Highway an officer on patrol and saw someone speeding. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, Christopher Moran, 37, 700 block of Tauber Road, New Lenox. Reports state that the officer learned Moran was driving under the influence of alcohol. Moran was arrested on suspicion of DUI and speeding. Moran posted bond and was released.

An officer was sent to the McDonald's in the 600 block of West Lincoln Highway for a fraud case. Police learned that someone tendered two counterfeit $20 bills. "The offender fled prior to police arrival," reports show. Later that same night, just two blocks away, officers were sent to the Speedway Gas Station for a fraud case. "The complainant advised that an unknown subject tendered a counterfeit twenty dollar bill."

APRIL 22

At 2:12 a.m., New Lenox police saw a driver commit a traffic violation at Nelson Road and Joliet Highway. The driver was Joe Gonzalez, 45, of 2100 block of Cattlemen Drive, New Lenox. "The officer conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle and made contact with the driver, Gonzalez. The officer learned that Gonzalez was driving under the influence of alcohol. Gonzalez was transferred to the Will County Adult Detention Facility after failing to post bond," reports show.

At 3:18 p.m., New Lenox Police responded to the Walmart store for a retail theft. Police say that Jaimes Davila, 28, of the 100 block of Davison Street in Joliet and Stanley Keen, 35, of the same address, "stole numerous items from the store. Keen and Jaimes Davila posted bond and were released."
