New Lenox Ambulance Crashes

New Lenox Fire officials issued a press release Thursday afternoon about the incident.

NEW LENOX, IL - The New Lenox Fire Protection District issued a press release on Thursday afternoon to notify everyone that nobody suffered any serious injuries shortly before noon when one of the ambulances was involved in a three-vehicle crash. The wreck occurred at 11:51 a.m. at the intersection of Nelson Road and Route 30, fire department representatives said.

The ambulance was not rushing to any emergency call at the time, but was instead returning from a training exercise, the department noted.

"One person was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No firefighters were injured in the accident," the release mentioned.
