New Lenox Commons Could Be Made Bigger, Better
Could a larger, updated stage help attract bigger acts?

New Lenox will explore options to renovate and expand its outdoor concert venue, trustees voted this week.
The Village Board approved spending $30,000 for engineering and architectural proposals to add seating and update the stage.
A more modernized stage will help accommodate larger acts, specifically during the Triple Play Series. Mayor Tim Baldermann said the Village has had to turn away acts due to a stage too small to accommodate their equipment. The structure’s current open sides also do not provide adequate shelter for electrical equipment in inclement weather. The new stage will have enclosed sides, Baldermann said. A potential redesign would also include a separate building to contain a green room, dressing rooms, and officers.
