Suspected New Lenox Drunk Driver Strikes Tree: Crime Blotter

The following incidents were investigated by New Lenox Police during the past week.

NEW LENOX, IL - It's time for your weekly look at the criminal activity that has been investigated by the New Lenox Police Department of late. The following information was supplied to New Lenox by the village police department.

November 26

The complainant advised that agreed to purchase a phone from a seller on the OfferUp App. The complainant and the seller agreed to complete the sale at Walmart. The complainant provided the seller with the money and the seller provided the complainant with an empty phone box. The seller then drove away with the complainant’s money.

November 26

The complainant advised that a man stole two televisions from the Walmart store. The value of the TVs was over $800.

November 27

The complainant advised that a man stole tools and other items from the Walmart store. The value of the stolen merchandise was over $300.

November 28

A police officer was dispatched to the 100 block of Twilight Lane in reference to a burglary to motor vehicle. The complainant advised that someone entered their unlocked vehicle while it was parked on their driveway overnight and stole miscellaneous items.

The officer was dispatched to Rebecca Drive in reference to an Identity Theft. The complainant advised that someone gained access to their personal information, opened a fraudulent line of credit using their information, and made a fraudulent purchase.

December 2

The complainant from the 700 block of Darsha Road advised that someone threw eggs at their home overnight and broke a window to their front door in doing so.

An officer was dispatched to a single vehicle crash at 7:54 p.m. at Francis Road and Crown Fox Lane where a car went off the road and struck a tree. The officer arrived on scene and began an investigation. The officer met with the driver, Robert Diver, 21, of the 2700 block of Foxwood Drive, New Lenox and learned that Diver was driving under the influence of alcohol. Diver was transported to the NLPD. Diver posted bond and was released.

December 3

An officer was dispatched to the 1700 block of Edmonds Avenue in reference to an Identity Theft. The complainant advised that someone gained access to their personal information and obtained to open a fraudulent line of credit to make a fraudulent purchase through Verizon.
