New Lenox Election Results Unchanged After Official Count

Although the District 122 school board election came down to 24 votes, the results were the same.

Earlier this month, on Election Day, a room full of friends and family watched anxiously as official results trickled in for the District 122 elections.

The supporters of Phil Adair, Bill Strons and Maureen Broderick (the only of the three elected) sweated out the final count that included early voting results. Three candidates—Nick DiSandro, Sue Gillooley and Strons—were jockeying for the second and third spots on the board behind Broderick, and Strons looked disappointed after he came in fourth. But there was still a sliver of hope for them, that is, until Tuesday, when the final election results were released.

The Will County Clerk's office made the April 5 election tallies official this week after canvassing and verifying the earlier count, and no races were changed in New Lenox. District 122, which was the only local race with potential to shift after being decided by just 24 votes, only saw the gap widen slightly.
