New Lenox Fire Protection District Accepting Cadet Applications

The New Lenox Fire Protection District (NLFPD) is currently accepting applications for the position of Fire Cadet. Applicants should be between the ages of 16 to 21 years old and reside in New Lenox Fire Protection District boundary.

Applications will be accepted from August 10 through August 21. Any interested person may pick up an application from the NLFPD Administration Office located at 261 E. Maple Street in New Lenox, between 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., or email Lt. Rettke at lucas.rettke@nlfire.com. Applications must be returned to the Administration Office by 4 pm on Friday, August 21st. Interview times are tentatively set for August 27th and 28th.

The cadet program’s mission is to recruit and educate area youth in the general operations of the fire service. The Program will provide a safe learning environment for area youth to experience and learn about a variety of the fire service tasks. Cadets will learn in a classroom setting as well as in a practical setting.

The primary mission of the New Lenox Fire and Ambulance Protection District is to provide a range of programs designed to protect the lives and property within New Lenox Village and Township from the effects for fires and sudden medical emergencies or exposure to dangerous conditions created by man or nature with professional, compassionate, and quality service.
