New Lenox Hog Wild Hit Again In Smash-And-Grab To Gaming Machines: NLPD

The incident happened around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 6, according to police reports.

NEW LENOX, IL — A smash-and-grab crew hit the gaming machines at Hog Wild in New Lenox for a second time since spring, according to New Lenox police reports.

Police were called for an alarm at Hog Wild, 1300 N. Cedar Rd., around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 6, according to police reports. They found the glass front door shattered, and a garage door separating the gaming area from the bar inside the restaurant also damaged, according to police reports.

Police learned that five suspects in dark clothing and face masks, armed with crowbars and a sledgehammer, broke into the building and damaged four gaming machines. Cash boxes were removed from two of the four machines, according to police reports.

The suspects had fled before police arrived.

It's the second time the restaurant/bar on Cedar Road has been struck to-date in 2026. The previous incident—on April 2—involved a crew breaking in and targeting gaming machines, an ATM and a cash register.

The suspects in that burglary left with one black box taken from one of the gaming machines, police said. The box contained approximately $4,700.

New Lenox Mayor Tim Baldermann said in September that the April incident was one of three in New Lenox in which arrests had been made as of that publication.

Three men—Devontay Brady, 30, of Maywood; Anthony Shorter, 23, of Bellwood; and Don Williams, 20, of Chicago—were arrested in connection the April 2 incident at Hog Wild, another at Williamson's on May 7 and one at Comise's on July 2.

The three men were linked individually or in some combination to one or more of the three local incidents, in addition to others in the suburbs and Cook County, Baldermann told Patch.
