New Lenox Holds World Suicide Prevention Day Event
The event will feature several breakout sessions, informational tables, refreshments and light appetizers and a panel discussion/Q&A.

NEW LENOX, IL — The Village of New Lenox and the New Lenox Safe Communities America Coalition, in partnership with Trinity Services, Inc., will “A Pathway to Hope and Healing,” in support of World Suicide Prevention Day. The event will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 10 at Trinity Services, Inc., 301 Veterans Parkway.
The event will feature several breakout sessions, informational tables, refreshments and light appetizers and a panel discussion/Q&A. Breakout sessions will include topics like "Grief to Peace," and “Adolescent Behavior Versus Actual Warning Signs of Depression.
The village said several organizations will also have a table and representatives on hand, including: “Be SMART” Program, Crisis Line of Will and Grundy Counties, ForeverU, H.E.R.O. (Heroin Epidemic Relief Organization), LCC K-9 Comfort Dog Ministry, Linden Oaks Behavioral Health, Metra, NAMI, South Suburbs, Sertoma Centre, Inc., Silver Cross Hospital, Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital, Trinity Services, Inc., and UChicago Ingalls Memorial.

According to the village, the panel discussion will be opened by Mayor Tim Baldermann and panelists will include: Emily Shelton (someone who has lost a loved one to suicide); Charles Cossetti (someone who has lost a loved on to suicide); Jeremiah LaPlante (LGBTQ Suicide Survivor); Kelly Mickey, Sergeant, Hammond, Indiana Police Department; Ryan Hesslau, Founder / President & Executive Director, ForeverU; and Jyoti K. Randhawa, MD., Chief Medical Officer, Silver Oaks Behavioral Hospital. A Q&A session will then be available following the presentations.
