New Lenox Man Beat Girlfriend In Street: Police
Police took Anello into custody and the woman had minor injuries from the incident.

NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox man has been charged with felony aggravated battery after physically fighting his girlfriend in the middle of the street, New Lenox Police said. Joseph Anello, 43, of the 100 block of Haines, has been charged with domestic battery and aggravated battery in a public place.
Police said officers were dispatched to Cedar and Haines at 9 p.m. April 30 for two males fighting in the street. When officers arrived they saw a man, who was later determined to be a witness, holding down Anello and there was a woman standing nearby. The two were separated and an investigation was conducted.
Police said they learned the witness was driving and saw Anello strike the woman in the face. A second witness saw the incident as well and had to avoid Anello and the woman in the middle of the road.

Police said they took Anello into custody and the woman had minor injuries from the incident. Anello was taken to Will County Adult Detention Facility on Wednesday and was released. His next court date is May 22.
