New Lenox Man Clubbed Romantic Rival in Head: Cops
The beaten man was hit with a baseball bat or a stick, according to a court filing.

A New Lenox man showed up at the home of his romantic rival and clubbed him in the head, police said.
Chad Jeralds, 21, used either a baseball bat or a stick when he struck a 24-year-old man in the head Thursday night, according to a petition for a protective order filed in Will County court.
The 24-year-old man was hanging out in his Heatherway Lane apartment with Jeralds’ 20-year-old ex-girlfriend, according to police and the petition. Jeralds allegedly came calling about 8:30 p.m. and hit the new boyfriend in the head.

The new boyfriend said he went outside and argued with Jeralds before chasing him, the petition said. Jeralds reportedly jumped into his truck and drove away.
“Later in the evening Chad called me and was threatening to beat me up and kill me,” the man said in his petition.

In her own petition, the girlfriend said Jeralds broke a hole in the door when he swung at the new boyfriend a second time.
Jeralds was booked into the Will County jail on charges of aggravated battery and criminal trespassing.
