New Lenox Man Faces Domestic Violence Charges

Nicholas Wolfe was hauled away to the Will County Jail on Sunday, jail logs show.

NEW LENOX, IL - A 33-year-old New Lenox man has been charged with domestic battery after police say he pushed his wife on Sunday morning at their house during a domestic disturbance. New Lenox Police officers arrested Nicholas Wolfe, who lives in the 1900 block of Brogan Drive.

Since his arrest, a Will County judge granted an emergency order of protection against the criminal defendant barring him from visiting the home on Brogan Drive. Wolfe is also forbidden from having contact with his wife and their two children, court documents show.

The order of protection against Wolfe states that on Sunday, Sept. 16, Wolfe came home at 2 a.m. "and there were text messages of him trying to buy drugs."

Court documents indicate that Wolfe's wife "confronted him about the text messages" and then he pushed her while arguing. The protection order indicates New Lenox officers "spoke to both of us separately and arrested him for domestic battery. The police also took all of his guns."

"Over the last year he has been drinking significantly. He has a history of opioid addiction ... I am afraid of physical abuse and financial abuse."

Court records at the Will County Courthouse indicate that Wolfe was convicted in 2004 of driving under the influence of drugs.

The complaint states that Wolfe was arrested by Mokena Police while driving on LaGrange Road "under the influence of a drug, cannabis and cocaine."

Jail logs from Will County show that Wolfe posted 10 percent of his $15,000 bail on Tuesday. Later that day, he also surrendered all his guns to the New Lenox Police Department, which was one of the conditions that the judge set at the time of the bail hearing, court records state.
