NEW LENOX, IL — A New Lenox man arrested this week in a forgery case also faces gun and drug charges, according to police reports.
Police said that Kevin O'Connor, 52, had an active arrest warrant in a forgery case from September 2025 when police stopped him driving near his home on March 26.
In the forgery case, a woman told police that her signature had been forged on financial documents, allowing for the withdrawal of $75,000 from her pension account.

The withdrawal required the authorization of both the individual and O’Connor, police said. The woman told police she had not authorized the withdrawal and had not signed the documents.
Investigators reviewed the documents and saw they had been notarized. The notary was identified as O'Connor's coworker. The notary advised they never notarized the documents, and the notary signature was also forged.

In the remainder of the investigation, police learned that the after-tax amount of the withdrawal—$57,000—was deposited into O’Connor’s personal bank account.
Investigators secured an arrest warrant for O’Connor for four counts of felony forgery.
On March 26, police spotted O'Connor driving toward his home in the 100 block of Oak Street. Police stopped the car and identified the driver as O'Connor.
He was taken into custody for the arrest warrant.
O’Connor admitted there was cannabis and firearms inside his vehicle, according to police reports. A search of the vehicle yielded a container of pills identified as Adderall and three firearms. One of the firearms had a defaced serial number.
He was then also charged with aggravated unlawful use of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.
O’Connor was taken to the New Lenox Police Department and later transferred to the Will County Jail.
