New Lenox Man Crushed To Death At Golf Course: Police

The man was crushed by lawn maintenance supplies at the golf course, police said.

NEW LENOX, IL — A 31-year-old New Lenox man was killed after he was crushed by lawn maintenance supplies at a Westchester golf course Wednesday. Timothy Garvin, an employee at the golf course, was spraying chemicals when lawn maintenance supplies fell on top of him and crushed him at Chicago Highlands Club.

Westchester Police said officers responded after a call at 8:44 a.m. about an unconscious man who was laying under a piece of machinery on the sixth hole of the golf course. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and later identified as Garvin.

Police said the death appears to be accidental. An autopsy will be performed.
