New Lenox Police Charge Heidi Binion With Domestic Violence

Mokena private defense attorney Jim Doyle predicts his client will be found not guilty once she has her day in court.

NEW LENOX, IL - A woman in New Lenox continues to find herself in trouble with Will County's legal system after being arrested early Friday morning on charges of domestic violence. New Lenox Deputy Chief of Police Louis Alessandrini said that officers responded to an apartment building in the 1000 block of Shagbark Road around 1:30 a.m. Friday. He said that his officers met with Heidi Binion's husband outside the apartment building in the parking lot. The New Lenox resident maintained that he had been hit by his wife, according to police.

"He claimed there had been a verbal argument with his wife, and she struck him in his face with her hands. He went outside and called police," Alessandrini told New Lenox Patch. Heidi Binion was taken into custody by New Lenox Police officers and she was driven to the Will County Jail in downtown Joliet. Jail logs indicate Binion got booked into the Will County around 7 a.m. She was released from custody around 4:30 p.m. Friday.

This marks Heidi Binion's second open criminal case at the Will County Courthouse. Court records show that prosecutors charged Binion on September 18 with retail theft under $300. That case was also investigated by the New Lenox Police Department and remains pending on the court docket.

Heidi Binion has hired Mokena criminal defense attorney Jim Doyle to represent her on both of her criminal cases at the Will County Courthouse.

On Monday afternoon, New Lenox Patch reached out to Doyle for comment on behalf of his client. During the brief interview, Doyle predicated both cases will turn out favorably for her.

"We believe that Ms. Binion will be acquitted for both," Doyle told Patch.

On Friday, a judge set a $10,000 bond for Binion but allowed her to be released from jail on a recognizance bond. However, the judge ordered her to have no contact with her husband and she must stay away from their apartment on Shagbark Road while her case is pending, court records show.
