New Lenox Police Hunt Tire-Slashing Thief
Police are asking for the public's help identifying the suspect.
The New Lenox Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man suspected of slashing a woman’s tire and then stealing cash from her after he offered to change it.
Police say the man first punctured a tire on the victim’s car while she was inside BMO Harris Bank, then offered to change the tire shortly after she exited the parking lot Saturday at 11 a.m. The unidentified white male then reportedly distracted her while he entered her car and removed the cash she had just withdrawn. He then ”made an excuse to leave,” hopped in a grey minivan and fled the scene.
The suspect is described as a 40- to 50-year-old white male, approximately 5-foot-9 and balding, with a heavy accent.
