New Lenox Police Warn of Serial Burglar

Have you seen any suspicious activity in your area?

The New Lenox Police Department is investigating four residential burglaries within the span of March 4–11.

The burglaries occurred in the 200 block of E. Fourth Ave, 400 Block of S. Pine and 500 block of S. Cedar. In each case the suspect gained entry by removing or cutting a screen to force open a window. Once inside property was taken and in one incident a vehicle parked in the garage was stolen (later recovered).

Several residents described a subject seen in the area where the burglaries occurred. The same subject was also seen in the vehicle that was stolen. The subject was described as a white male, 30–40 years old, 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8. He is of slender build and has long, light brown or grey hair pulled into a ponytail. He was seen wearing a blue flannel shirt.

The New Lenox Police Department is asking residents to report any suspicious activity immediately by calling 9-1-1. You may also contact the police department at the non-emergency number 815-485-2500 or submit anonymous crime tips at 815-462-6111.
